The Great Doodle Assignment

This project was pretty difficult which really surprised me! It was hard trying to decide what you were going to draw(doodle) next. That clearly was the hardest part of this assignment but other then that this assignment was pretty fun. I enjoyed being able to express your creativity without a specific set of intrustions. That is always nice. If I could go back and change something in this assignment, I would take out the ornaments and cupcake and draw different shapes to replace them. That's it though because other then that I think the project turned out pretty nice. I enjoyed doing it!

One Point Perspective Name Drawing

Oh boy! This project gave me SUCH trouble. I started by making my letters too boxy. I didn't want them to look that way. I also made my name WAY too small. This project was difficult and I would go back in time and make my name curvier and take up more room. I don't think this project turned out as well as I wanted it to but in the end I added cool box-like things to take up room and it made it look a lot better. I would rate myself a 7 on this project.

Two Point Perspective Alma College Drawing

I thought I did very well on this piece. I think that it could look a lot better though if we did'nt have to outline it in ink. As soon as i get one of those fine point pens/markers in my hand I suddenly cannot draw a straight line to save my life. Which shows when you look at the brick ledges toward the bottom of the page. I think that was the most difficult part of the drawing. Along with the railings to the stairs. I would probably go back in time and redo those. They were an awkward shape and I really didn't know how to approach them! I got the job done though and in the end, I'd say I did a pretty good job!

One Point Perspective Hallway Drawing

This project wasn't my favorite to be truthful. I felt that using colored pencils kind of ruined the project. I think I feel that way because I think that sketches always look better. That's my opinion though. This project was difficult because it was hard to include all doorways and to make everything fit where it belongs. You had to make it just the right proportion otherwise nothing would work out. I think I could have taken less time worrying about the size of the door at the end of the hallway and spend more time coloring and adding neater details. I learned from this piece of artwork that taking your time is very important to get a good result. Overall, on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the best and one being the worst, I'd rate myself an 8.

Color Wheel

The color wheel project was very fun. I really enjoyed the painting part of it. The part I would change about this project if i could is the "blue" portion of the wheel. I would change this over everything else because the blue paint i used was very runny and didn't set well on the paper. It was very thin and I applied at least three coats and you can still see the brush lines. I tried making the paint as even as possible and I felt I did a pretty good job at it. I really like how this turned out and it was pretty easy too, which was a huge plus.
