Day 3: 3-D Picture: "Twister"
Day 7: Sculpture: "Statue of Jonah"
I love Jonah Hill, therefore I HAD to choose him for this project! However, I had to add a fig leaf to this statue to make this appropriate. :P

Day 6: Literal Interpretations: "Country Crock Butterfly"
I thought this would be a fun project to do because there were seriously ENDLESS possibilities that I could have done! At first, I was going to do a "starfish" but in the end, decided on doing a "butterfly" and I think this turned out way better than the "starfish" idea! I love how this turned out. It's funny, bright, and colorful! some of my favorite things! :) And let's face it, everybody knows "Country Crock" is the best kind of butter out there! :)

Day 5: Interactive Self Portrait with a Cartoon: Tangled Interaction
Day 4: Inanimate Object Brought to Life: Starbucks Coffee
This is my animated Starbucks Coffee. It's nothing super special, however I am absolutely addicted to Starbucks and it would be just THAT much cooler if it could talk to me. :)

Day 2: Comical Movie Poster Parody: "Scared"
This movie poster is a parody to the popular children's movie "Brave". I changed the title to "Scared" and found a frightened picture of the movie character. This project didn't take very long and I feel I could have done better but I have ten more days to make some really awesome projects so fingers crossed they turn out! :)

Day 1: Brand Identity Swap: "Limited Edition Late Night Snack Ben & Jerry's Shampoo"
I'm not going to write much for this post besides that what inspired me to choose these two brands to swap was my love for good smelling things and ice cream. LOL! I LOVE Ben & Jerry's Late Night Snack ice cream and I can't help but to think Herbal Essence Shampoo smells amazing! :) They also have pretty containers! :) Overall, I am happy with my finished product!

Fantasy World
If I could live any place in the world it would look something like this. Although it may not be super creative like Megan's "Sparkle Word" and Abi's "50s Themed World", if I had to form the most perfect place to live in my head it would look like this. I LOVE the country. Wide open spaces, lots of pretty colors, and rolling hills. Therefore, I chose a background layer in this project that had all those three qualities. Next, I added a lot of huge, luxurious houses to the picture because in my perfect world, there are no small homes, only top-notch homes! Finally, I added a few barns and farm animals. This is because I have a soft spot in my heart for animals and the farm lifestyle.
All together, I am not exactly sure how much I like this project. I think I could have done better but I still don't know how to work some features in Photoshop. I like it though for the simple fact that it represents the kind of things I like and who I am. Next time, I would try and figure out how to make the layers on my backdrop not as vibrant in color to make them blend in a little more. If I knew how to do that, I would have liked the ending product much more of this project.

Photoshop Animal Creation: The "Cowmadillo"
For this project, we were told to pick an animal and choose other qualities from different animals to photoshop onto the original image. I feel this project was successful, however, I wish I would have chosen an easier animal to work with rather than an armadillo. This was probably the most difficult part of this project because no many things match the image I chose, for example, prior to using the steer's head on the armadillo's body, I tried a chimpanzee's head. It didn't blend very well and looked very strange and unproportional. After deciding to go with the steer's head, I felt the armadillo was too bland still and needed a little something else, therefore, I added the scorpion tail. This is another problem I ran into because I was struggling to find other elements to add to my picture due to the awkward animal and position of the animal I chose. Next time, if I was to do a project like this, I would choose a more common, larger animal and find unique animals to incorporate in my original animal. Overall though, I like the results from this project and think I invited a very unique creature!

Geogebra Sequence Graph
This is a graph of a sequence of number I chose. There are two types of sequences in math: geometric and arithmetic. This is an arithmetic sequence. An arithmetic sequence is a series of numbers where the difference of any two cosecutive numbers is constant. For this graph, I have two different sequences. In the pink colored graph, I used the trigonomic function "cosine". This is why the troughs and peaks only reach up to the number one when they wave. For the purple graph I used the trigonomic function "sine". This is why my graph or "wave" starts at the vertex or zero on the coordinate plane. The reason the arches look like fish gills is because for the common difference of the series of numbers, I chose 0.3 and 0.2. Every arch or "gill" represents the graph moving up 0.3 or 0.2 to towards the ending number of the sequence.

The Culinary Arts: An Art I Can Really Appreciate
The cullinary arts is a very different form of art. I chose this field because let's get real now...Who doesn't like food?!?! It really facinates me, how much art is put into this career field. It's an art in it's own special way. The colors, textures, sizes, shapes, and display of the food on the plate can be the determining factor whether or not someone acknowledges it and decides to sink their teeth into it! I know I wouldn't eat something that appreared disgusting! The average yearly salary varies with this career, considering there are so many different branches in the culinary art field you can be involved with! If you are an executive chef, the average yearly income is approximately $60,000-$85,000. If you decide to take become an executive pastry chef, you could be making anywhere from $46,000-$83,000 a year. The duties of a chef are pretty straight forward: Make the food yummy, and pretty, to put it in simpler terms. If something doesn't taste good, but looks good, people still will not consume your product. If your product is yummy but doesn't look appetizing, people won't be as apt to buy your product because it doesn't look like it will satisfy their needs. To be in the cullinary arts field, you must attend cullinary school at a college or university that offers these types of programs. If you plan on being higher up the ladder and want to have a higher position in this field, such as an executive chef, four years of cullinary school will be necessary to get the aquired skills you will need in your career. The people you work with with vary depending on the branch of cullinary arts you go into. A pastry chef just may work alone, whereas an executive chef may have a fun kitchen full of poeple to oversee! Overall, the cullinary arts a very unique and amazing career field, and contains more art than you may think! It is a career field that I would definitely consider going into if there was a higher demand for them in my home state!
Printing Project
I chose for my stamp to carve out "Pura Vida". This saying means a lot to me, especially after my life changing trip with the Spanish Club to Costa Rica this past spring break! This project wasn't my favorite but the meaning behind it means the most to me. I think it could have turned out better but the press was causing me some grief and I ended up having to manually roll the stamp onto my paper. Also, there weren't very many colors to choose from so I was limited with my selection. This project turned out nicely, though.
Vans Off the Wall Contest
These are the shoes I designed for the Vans Off the Wall Contest. I chose the theme surfing. The shoe on the right I had started, however, never finished and had another friend of mine, who I trusted to do well on them, take over for me. I drew the picture out for her on the shoe and she painted them to the best of her ability and I think she did a great job! The shoe on the left with the sunset I did all by myself. It took a long time to shade and get all the detail I wanted but I love how it turned out. I'm very proud of myself! This was my favorite project this year. It turned out the best of them all!

Ceiling Tile
Sam and I for our ceiling tile, chose to do a quote in the shape of an anchor. The background is navy blue and we splattered pastel orange, pastel yellow, and lighter teal onto it. The wording we are painting white. After we were done with the entire tile, it looked amazing! And to give it a little extra shine, we spread a glaze over the top of the finished product! It looks great on the ceiling and it was my favorite project I did all year! I really can't think of anything I would like to change about this project! However, I do not have a picture available to post on here, but take my word for it, It looks AWESOME! :)

Candy Drawing
This project was fun. I prefer sketching things and that was a big part of this project. The only difference with this project and a normal sketch, however, was the shading with colored pencils. I thought that concept of this piece would be really difficult but I was mistaken. It was a challenging, but rewarding project. I believe this picture was put into a contest as well! The finished product pleased me and the colors really pop nicely off the paper! I'm very happy with how this project went!

Clay Project 2012/2013
This project is a work in progress. It hasn't been fired or completely painted yet, however, it should be finished relatively soon. What I did was make a small box. I'm not quite sure what I plan to use it for, but I will be honest, I was in somewhat in a hurry and needed something I could complete efficiently and quickly to kind of get back into the groove of things with the class. Which I did and it looks actually pretty well shaped. I ended up painting the box mint green, and have been in the process of painting small pink daisies all over it. I'm not sure how it will end up looking after being fired but I'm really hoping the paint colors don't blend and it ends up having a clean/ fresh appearance.
Three Steps to Abstraction Project
Overall, I feel I could have done better with this assignment. This project brought something to my attention and taught me something I didn't really know yet until now : I really prefer sketching!
